Does your cute dog shine like a Diamond? Enter our monthly contest, and they might just be Diva's next Diamond Dog!!

Hello everyone It has been a couple of weeks since I have posted, so Ill update you on all of the great news!!

First of All, I have a wonderful parent who adores me so much, I go almost everywhere with him! A few weeks ago I was up quite early with him having coffee (well he was having coffee, I was just sitting on his lap surfin the web with him). We were lookin for some clothes that were small enough to fit me when we ran accross an advertisement for a cute puppy contest online! We immediately aggreed on how fun this could be if I competed. I have never been in a contest before, what FUN!!!

As of today, Sunday July 17, 2011 I am in first place!!! So thank you to all of my supporters who have been voting this month!! 

I have 727 Votes, and I am in the Lead by 269 Votes!! Yay!!!

This contest lasts for a month and ends July 28th. We have been having such a blast!! We Have made it a routine! Every Morning I wake him up by barking, even though I'm under 2 lbs, I still pack a loud bark, it works every time!! Next he goes potty in his Daddy potty and I go potty on my potty pad. He gets his Coffee (smells terrible if you ask me), and then we go sit at the computer and check the polls for the day! It is so exciting to see how far all of my supporters have gotten me! 

We have been having so much fun it gave me a great thought! I told my Daddy that we should make our own Contest, and have a prize, this way we can share the fun that we have been having and also give other canines the chance to be a winner!

It was settled, we shall have a contest!!

My daddy, bless his heart, made an entire website to host the contest. It has a daily voting contest poll, pictures of really cute animals, a winners circle which will house all of the winners pictures for a year, a forum where you can chat with all of the other cute doggys in the contest as well as friends, even music!!

And to top it all off, he is even devoting some of his earnings from his work place towards the prize, which will be a Blue Rosette Ribbon in which my dad is going to embellish with Genuine Swarovski Crystal Rhinestones spelling the winners name, which he is a pro at stoning! In addition, we are also printing off a Certificate for the winner!

The only requirements are:

1. You must live in the USA
2. The animal must be a dog (of any age)
3. It must be your pet, or have permission from the owner to submit the photo!

Update on the Votes 7/11/2011, and Bad Habits

****UPDATE****

This contest has been so much fun and my little Diva is loving all of the attention! I have had votes and comments from all over the world on the voting site!

As of today July 7th, 2011, Diva has 511 votes, and Crickette Ann is still taking the number two spot with 374 votes. Diva is doggy napping on my lap right now! She's my little lovebug. She woke me up at a barking 5:15 in the morning today. Poor little Diva had spilled her water bowl and was all wet. So being the devoted father as I am, I got up, cleaned it up, and gave her a bath, so I have had alot of coffee today. Haha

I am having trouble training her though. Since she is still potty training, I bought a really cute pink and white playpen for her to be in when we are sleeping. It has enough room for her puppy bed, some squeak toys, a bone or two, and her potty pad. But she wakes me up every morning whining to get out, which is okay, I understand her frustration, but I don't want her growing up and thinking that she can whine and bark! I read many articles on how to best train a Chihuahua, but still she whines. She is also starting to tear up her potty pad when she is locked in the playpen, I don't know what to do! The tearing-up of the potty pad can easily be fixed by buying a potty pad holder, but that still doesn't fix the problem of chewing on things she is not supposed to. I have tried correcting her by saying NO! and putting her in a crate for 10 minutes, but she still goes right back to her new-old ways! I am hoping that she is just teething and that she will stop when she gets older. I just don't want to have her learning bad habits. Don't get me wrong, she is learning quite well, but still has those puppy tendencies. Once she is fully potty trained on her potty pads, she will not be locked up in her playpen evermore.

Other than that, she is doing very well. I take her on walks almost daily, we play with her outside often, and she loves playing with her sister Delani, the Maine Coon kitten! Diva even loves to play with Delani's cat toys. So Cute! As I always say, we have a cat that will be the size of a dog, and a dog the size of a cat.

Update on the Votes 7/2/11

****UPDATE****

As of Saturday, 7/2/11 Diva is tied neck and neck for 1st place, so as you can see, EVERY vote counts!!

Currently, as of 9:51 am today she is 110 out of the total 312 votes from all 15 contestants combined. She is doing great and so is Cricket Anne, the other dog in the 1st place spot with Diva, both with 110 Votes.

Thank you to all who have currently voted for DIVA and helped her get this far, I never imagined we would be this close to the win! However, there are still 24 days left in the competition! I wonder how the polls will change!! I know Diva is excited that she is in the contest too, as she sits here looking at her blog right beside me and how excited we get when she gets another vote!

We have big plans for today! We are about to go watch the 4th of July parade! This is her first parade so we are all pretty excited :) She is gonna be decked out in her best puppy gear so lets hope we can get some more votes too!!

Cutest Pup Contest!!

A few days ago I was surfing the web, looking at online shops for all the cutest couture puppy clothes, accessories, beds, etc. when I ran across an ad for an Online Photo Contest for the Cutest Puppy for the month of July. I thought how fun it would be to enter my 20 week old Chihuahua named Diva. Her name says it all! She is such a little Diva. I picked her up from the pet store two months ago and I still hadn't picked out a name! The clerk told me that she is such a little Diva, always rough housing with her two older and bigger brothers, and the name stuck  :-)

In the short time I have had Diva, she has became part of my family, part of me. She was the runt of the litter so she is tiny (under 2 pounds), she is absolutely adorable, and the cutest little puppy ever. She loves playing outside, going for walks, and she is definitely spoiled. Shouldn't every dog be? I even glue Swarovski crystals to almost every piece of doggy clothing she owns. In short, I am a very dedicated owner.

So today was the start of the contest. I had created a facebook event a few days ago so my friends and family wouldn't forget to vote. I spent countless hours today at the computer telling all of my friends online to vote. She was in 1st place with almost half of the votes! I was tired of staring at the computer all day, so I took a short break. Only a few hours had passed, and she had dropped to second place.

I felt so upset that I had spent so much time on the computer, and with only an hour or two away, she wasn't winning, but, it's only the first day of the contest, there is a lot more time to catch back up. Actually this specific contest runs for one month, from June 29 2011 to July 28th 2011. But some part of me is thinking that there must be some other way to get more votes. So I decided to write a blog about it.

Diva deserves to win this contest because she is truly an amazing pup! She is always decked out in the cutest puppy apparel, stoned to the gods with Swarovski crystals! She has the kindest heart, always playing with our Maine Coon kitten. She loves giving kisses, almost licking your face right off, haha, and just loves all the attention she can get! But mostly why I think that she should win, is because the stereotype of Chihuahuas, being mean and nippy, is absolutely not true. Yes, some Chihuahuas do Bite and Snarl, but that is a complete misconception. It has completely to do with how the pup was raised. And Diva was raised with much love and care.
